Internet Marketing - What Method Is Best?

If you're a newby to the internet marketing industry, you may find it a confusing field. After all, there is search engine optimization, paid search engine advertising, email marketing, affiliate marketing, and many other methods. Which is best? Which should you use?

Well, let me say to start with, that you should not rely on just one internet marketing method. You should use at least a couple proven methods. But here is a brief overview of the primary methods, so you can choose which to use.

Search Engine Marketing

Search engine marketing is excellent if your target customer 1) knows that they have a problem or need, and 2) are looking for answers to that issue on the internet. Then you just have to figure out what keywords your customer is searching for, and market to them using those keywords.

There are two kinds of search engine marketing: paid and SEO. Paid is best for up-front sales, while SEO often shines brightest in the long term. Using both together can be excellent.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is an excellent method to use if your key prospects are visiting sites that would be interested in earning a commission by placing your link on their site. For example, if your product is a book on search engine marketing, there are many sites about search engine marketing that might promote your site for a commission. On the other hand, if your product is fishing trips in Palm Beach Florida, affiliate marketing might not be your best option.

Email Marketing

This option can be highly effective, if you can find a targeted list, and create a powerful marketing approach. If done correctly, email marketing can be highly effective. If done wrong, it can be an expensive disaster.
